Cleanliness is the key to live a happy and  healthy life. An eco-friendly, clean and natural environment is  productive in every way. In this blog, I am gonna tell you about the cleanest village of Asia, from which you have many things to learn. If all the people of the world follows the rules of the villagers of that village, then our world can be a better place to live.

Mawlynnong, a small village situated in the east Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. The north-east India is always a better place in terms of it's natural beauty. And the people are also awesome. This village is almost 90 kms from Shillong, one of the beautiful place of India. It was awarded  as Asia's cleanest village in 2003 by Discover India.The village is not only attractive in terms of cleanliness, but also for it's natural beauty. The immense beauty of rocks, greenery and beautiful flowers has made it a heaven on the earth. This village is called as 'God's own village'.

The main community of this village is Khasi. Khasi is a small tribe of Meghalaya which is famous for it's  matriarchal rule, where sons and daughters get their mother's surname,once married, man live in their mother in laws homes, the properties are named to their daughters. In a short word, it is a completely opposite society from the rest of India, where crime rate against female is very low.

Many tourists visit this village every year, especially in monsoon season when the whole Meghalaya is filled with greenery and beauty. The tourists like the cleanliness rules in the village, the local dress, the local food. The food in the village are grown organically and the meats are obtained from their own house farms.The village has toilets in every house. The head of the village doesn't allow anyone  to build a house without building a toilet first. The whole village is full of bamboo dustbins, plastic is strictly prohibited inside the village. If any of the villagers breaks the rule , then he/she is charged with a heavy amount of money. The literacy rate of the village is 100%.

So, it is an inspiration for all the people. If they can make it happen, then everyone can. Every village and every town can be beautiful, clean and healthy. There is no need of any government laws to make your surroundings pleasant. Mother nature gives us everything, all we need to do is to use and conserve them properly. Everyone should come forward to make an eco-friendly, clean, peaceful world, all you need to do is to follow the rules......
